When Nike first unveiled its wacky Blazer Mid '77 Jumbo back in August, HYPEBEAST said that because the original shoe is essentially a blank canvas it allows the Swoosh to reimagine the pair in completely new ways. Following in the footsteps of the first pair comes two new colorways, "White/White/Sail/Dark Russet" and "White/White/Sail/Black," adding the same exaggerated design language that appeared on the inaugural "Black/Bright Crimson" offering.
The Blazer's signature mid-top design remains apparent despite plenty more going on in Jumbo form. For example, we now find a jumbo-sized Swoosh hit up the mid-panel and wrap around the rear, sitting underneath an elastic heel section that's fitted with heel tabs. Leather and suede have been used heavily throughout the shoe's construction, with the latter appearing at the toe as per the Blazer aesthetic, while a padded exposed foam tongue can also be seen.
However, more uniquity appears towards the sole unit where an exaggerated herringbone outsole has been added as an ode to the typically flat sole on the original pair. The tongue tab that sits on top of the laces has also been supersized, while stitching all around is much more evident than before.
Nike's Blazer Mid '77 Jumbo in both "White/White/Sail/Dark Russet" and "White/White/Sail/Black" can be seen above and purchased from Nike's website for a snip under £100 GBP (approx. $137.50 USD).
