Following the release of his own flavor of Nissin Cup Noodle, NBA star Rui Hachimura gets animated in the "Cup Noodle Curry Big" Japanese commercial.
In the 2019 NBA draft, the Washington Wizards selected Hachimura as their 9th pick. The 23-year-old made history as the first Japanese player ever to be chosen in the first round and is a long-standing basketball icon in his native country which propelled him to become a Nissin Cup Noodle ambassador.
The commercial features the Wizards forward doing a mix of activities alongside a mysterious fish character yodeling a theme song. The short "Yodel no Onna" animation bears a quirky touch as you see Hachimura go from hammering the Cup Noodle to being thrown by the fish and flying through the air. The cherry on top is seeing the NBA star blasting into the sky with a country outline jetpack before landing in the ocean sending fishing in all directions.
