Simulation racing fans have just been given the Bentley of racing wheels, and that's because it's an actual joint release from the luxury British auto manufacturer itself and Fanatec.
Dubbed the Bentley Continental GT3 Steering Wheel from Fanatec, this particular wheel will be the same one used by Rhys Millen for the Bentley Continental GT3's Pikes Peak hill climb. Fanatec's CEO comments, "this is the most advanced wheel we’ve ever made, and it will be used in a car which is simply stunning and the definition of cool. We had the honor of making an iconic wheel for an iconic car to race at the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and our customers can be part of it and drive the exact same wheel in a simulator."
The wheel features magnesium alloy/carbon fiber construction, four aluminum rotary encoders, a QR2 quick release, a 3.4-inch circular LED center screen, a multitude of additional buttons, and Bentley branding. For those that aren't going to be using it for racing purposes, the four-pound wheel also comes with a collectors case and stand so that it can be used as a clock when plugged in via USB. While there's no official pricing, we can already tell that this won't be cheap.
