Karimoku Commons Hosts Zaha Hadid Design Exhibition

Hybrid workspace and gallery Karimoku Commons is featuring works from Zaha Hadid Designs for its latest exhibition, focusing on the architecture firm's collaborative product designs from the past decade.

Characterized as "a space where you can rethink your life with wood," Karimoku Commons reproduces architectural designs from Zaha Hadid's archives in the form of wood sculptures, and displays Zaha Hadid Design's home decor and accessories including jewelry, furniture, lighting, and more. Included in the exhibition are chandeliers for Slamp, shoes for United Nude, and crystal objects for Lalique, as well as the objects under the studio's brand including glassware, salt and pepper shakers, and display pieces.

Uniting Zaha Hadid Design's innovative style and Karimoku's artisanal expertise, collaborative items from the duo include a series of armchairs and tables highlighted by the Seyun chair for Karimoku set to release in 2022.

"We strongly believe in collaboration; it’s through a mutual exchange of ideas, skills and expertise that we can achieve great results," said Zaha Hadid design director Maha Kutay. "Karimoku is the ideal partner, matching our daring design concepts with their unrivaled quality of execution."

The Zaha Hadid Design installation is currently held at the first-floor gallery at Karimoku Commons and ends on December 3. Head over to the dedicated website for a video introduction and more.
