RHUDE's SS22 Collection Dreams of Post-Pandemic Life in Monaco

For its Spring/Summer 2022 "Monaco with God's Help" collection, RHUDE founder Rhuigi Villaseñor looks to Monaco as a symbol of escape.

Following more than a year of global standstill and uncertainty, Villaseñor muses over what post-pandemic life could look like, spending time reflecting on what the youth will be wearing as they emerge from months spent at home. He considers the questions of "what does a black-tie event look like? How does a game of tennis look, or an afternoon spent by the sea? Will the traditional rules of dress still apply?"

The brand picks up from where it left off last season, embodying a "new place of modern luxury" and exploring "informal formality", creating new shapes from classic suiting silhouettes with the scene set during the summer season in blissful Monaco. Taking inspiration from several decades including the 60's Rat Pack, the roaring Twenties, and Slim Aarons, Rhuigi guides the collection to embody an optimistic spirit for the new world, offering new experimental looks and perspectives to add to the joy in getting ready.

Highlighted in the collection are oversized throw-on jackets in new silhouettes with a touch of classic tailoring, as particularly noted in key collaborative pieces with the iconic Sahara hotel. Silk and cashmere are core fabrics throughout the series, while knitwear and clean lines are used to elevate the looks.
