Bethesda's 'Starfield' Marks Studio's First New Universe in 25 Years

Originally announced back in 2018 alongside Elder Scrolls 6, Bethesda's highly anticipated sci-fi open-world RPG Starfield has finally received an official release date and cinematic trailer over at E3 2021.

Created by the studio behind numerous award-winning titles like Skyrim and the Fallout franchise, Starfield will be Bethesda's first new universe in 25 years, bringing players out into space. Revolving around an organization named Constellation, which is described as "the last group of space explorers," game director Todd Howard says that Starfield is "a next-generation role-playing game where you'll be who you want, go where you want, experience our stories and forge your own. Starfield is about hope, our shared humanity, and searching for the answers to life's greatest mystery."

Unfortunately for the PlayStation players out there, Microsoft has made it clear that Starfield will be an Xbox exclusive, running only on the Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Starfield will launch on November 11, 2022 — exactly 11 years since the release of Skyrim — and you can learn more over on the game's website.

Elsewhere in gaming, FromSoftware has released the first trailer for George R. R. Martin's Elden Ring.
