Valentino has just released its fully-knitted Garavani Sneaker. Previewed earlier at the Valentino Collezione Milano Spring/Summer 2021 fashion show, this new take on the Garavani Sneaker demonstrates Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s experimental eye and vision in mixing tradition with the avant-garde.
These sneakers feature macramè crochet work (often seen on couture gowns) across the uppers. Each handmade upper plays on the material that is often seen in clothing worn at night, but in vibrant, summertime-ready colors. Details like multi-layer interwoven construction, a braided collar, and VLogo Signature sole elevate this luxurious sneaker into the world of artisanal goods -- it takes over 10 hours, 88 needles, and 100 meters of wire to complete each pair.
