It's been nearly two years since Skepta and Nike unleashed its black and red Shox TL colorway, and now the two parties are ready to roll out more footwear offerings. Up next from the UK rapper and the Swoosh is this vividly styled Nike Air Max Tailwind V "Chrome Blue" collaboration.
Retro-futuristic in every sense of the term, this latest joint venture sees the archival Air Max model get whipped up with stark black backgrounds, and bears ultra vibrant blue tie dye patterns with a sprinkle of purple that are printed across the toe boxes and along the side paneling. More black notes fill in the webbed TPU molds attach to the forefoot and mid-foot regions as well as the rubber caps that sit up front. Chrome furnishings are placed across the Swooshes, the lateral side molds which commence towards the rear and bleed onto the midsoles, as well as on the medial pieces towards the back. Moreover, iridescent notes line the tongues and around the collars, both of which are mostly visible in dimly lit environments or when struck by a camera flash.
For branding, the tongues and insoles feature in the usual "SK Air" hits, and the heel's "Max Air" spell out is dyed in a lighter gray.
The Nike SK Tailwind V, and its accompanying tracksuit and bucket hat will launch globally on April 2, 2021.
Elsewhere in the realm of sneakers, detailed images of the Nike Air Force 1:1 "Animal Instinct" have emerged.
