As Timothée Chalamet continues on his rise in Hollywood, he has leaned on Haider Ackermann's designs for some of his most momentous occasions. Over the years, their bond has become deeper and it has blossomed from just a professional relationship to now, a collaborator.
Chalamet and Ackermann's first collaboration is for a good cause. In light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, the French designer and the American actor have come together in the fight for women and girls rights in Afghanistan, which have taken a dramatic fall backwards with the result of the Taliban's return to power earlier this August. Together, the pair have joined forces for a hoodie design to amplify the voices of the "Silent Soldiers."
Chalamet wrote on Instagram, "We were horrified to learn of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and decided to design a hoodie where 100% of the proceeds will go to @afghanistanlibre : a relief organization with boots on the ground that fights to safeguard women’s and children’s rights - as those atrocities continue to spread, we should amplify the voices of those silent soldiers." As Afghanistan is facing the worst humanitarian crisis, all support will first go to urgent medical support and food. All profits will go to the NGO Afghanistan Libre.
