Nike is bringing its football (soccer) boot "The Nike" back with a faithful recreation.
As the first shoe to bear the Swoosh, "The Nike" was launched in 1971 for $16.95 USD without any weather-combating properties. The shoe was ultimately discontinued as the brand focused more on running, tennis and basketball footwear. Boasting a full-leather base predominately in black, the retro-inspired release features contrasting white leather Swooshes on the sidewalls. Adding elements of color, graphics referencing the Mexico 1970 World Cup are featured on the tongue and the insoles. While a white midsole atop a soleplate with classic 13 conical studs round up the design.
Priced at $240 USD, "The Nike 1971" football (soccer) boot is set to release on December 6 via Nike and at select retailers.
