Wright is now auctioning off one of only 10 Ikepod Hemipode ref. HDR 77 chronographs, a watch often heralded as Kanye West's favorite timepiece after the musician wore one during his appearance at the 2020 Vanity Fair afterparty.
Originally designed by Australian industrial designer Marc Newson back in 1998, the Hemipode chronograph carries Ikepod's distinct circular case and muted bezel surrounding four subdials at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. This particular reference boasts a monocoque construction in 18K pink gold, housing an ETA 7750 calibre movement that you can admire through an off-center window opening on the caseback, accompanied with Newson's own engraved signature. Completing the look is a smooth black rubber strap and a special leather carrying case.
For the watch collectors out there, the Ikepod Hemipode ref. HDR 77 is now available for auction over on Wright, with an expected price of $15,000 USD.
Elsewhere in watches, the Phillips Hong Kong XII auction has raised $24.6 million USD over the weekend.
