Dave Grohl has revealed that he has thought of "many ideas" for an alternate cover for Nirvana's Nevermind album, shortly after Spencer Elden, the baby who appears on the album art, sued the band for child sexual exploitation.
The Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer hinted to The Times that while nothing is set in stone, they will hopefully be able to clear this lawsuit. “I have many ideas of how we should alter that cover but we’ll see what happens," Grohl said. "We’ll let you know. I’m sure we’ll come up with something good.”
He added, “I think that there’s much more to look forward to and much more to life than getting bogged down in those kinds of things. And, fortunately, I don’t have to do the paperwork.”
In late August, Elden filed a lawsuit against Nirvana, its surviving members and the Kurt Cobain estate, alleging that both him and his legal guardians did not give their consent to use the image. He also claimed that the band did not pull through on their promise to cover his genitals with a sticker, arguing that the photo is actually child pornography and that the use of the image has caused him lifelong damages.
Elsewhere in music, Billie Eilish is now the youngest artist to headline Glastonbury.
