'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' Receives Earlier Theatrical Release Date

Sony Pictures has once again revealed new release plans for Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

In an unprecedented move, the Tom Hardy-starring comic book adaptation is now set for October 1, marking the sixth time the release date has been changed. Tom Hardy's character, who is a journalist turned alien symbiote will act alongside Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams, Reid Scott ad Naomie Harris. Sony announced the new date for the film shortly after Disney and Marvel reported a larger-than-anticipated opening weekend for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Over the weekend, Marvel collected $75.5 million USD and $90 million USD in just its first four days of release.

Venom is not the only film Sony has pushed back several films in their repertoire including Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Top Gun: Maverick. It remains to be seen if this will be the last time the dates shift for the film.

In other entertainment news, The Suicide Squad post-credit scene has been released and it teases John Cena's Peacemaker spin-off.
