SKRIT, a Canadian streetwear brand founded in Montreal, has partnered with rapper and mogul sensation Waka Flocka Flame, as their foray into American fashion began this past NY Fashion Week with its collection launch at TAO last week. Founded by Paratheep Kanesh aka "Stally" and Justin Rosen, the two are childhood friends who came together in 2019 to bring their vision to life and recently Stally met Waka Flocka Flame connected on their companies' NFT creativity and capabilities. From there — it was history — as the two hit it off and Waka Flocka found their love for art and street culture to be inspiring, leading to this current partnership between the two and eventually, the launch of SKRIT's latest collection of luxury, unisex apparel and accessories.
The elevated streetwear brand draws inspiration from the community and culture at-large, often referencing cultural artifacts in their graphic design and focusing heavily on delivering high-quality pieces that stand the test-of-time. Defined by creative expression and sustainability, vouching to use ethically sourced materials, SKRIT is leading the way in terms of the street style fashion in Montreal and across Canada. The brand has honed in on redefining visuals with its striking use of eclectic graphics and unique messaging on its art-driven designs.
And this latest unisex collection is a prime example of this, consisting of luxury fabrications, including custom designed T-shirts, oversized hoodies, silk short sets, vegan leather varsity jackets, cardigans and luxury bottoms, along with a variety of accessories. Currently, the brand is working on an exclusively designed capsule for the Atlanta Haws State Farm Arena Shops with the help of Waka as well as a Coogi brand collaboration set to come out sometime in 2022.
