Eminem has officially announced a permanent brick-and-mortar location for his famed concept restaurant Mom's Spaghetti, named after the line on his 8 Mile cut "Lose Yourself."

Located in downtown Detroit, the establishment is set to open on September 29 was built in partnership between Em, his manager Paul Rosenberg and the Union Joints restaurant group and marks the first Mom's Spaghetti permanent location after it was launched as a pop-up in 2017. The restaurant occupies a small bodega space within Union Assembly, with Ann Stevenson designing the area with a walk-up window in the alley and limited indoor seating next to the bodega.

Fans can also look forward to the opening of The Trailer, a retail space above Mom's Spaghetti that pays homage to B. Rabbit's trailer from 8 Mile. The Trailer offers Mom's Spaghetti merch, limited editions and dead stock pieces from Eminem's retail collection and memorabilia.

“We’ve had a lot of fun putting this project together with the folks at Union Joints, and the response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive,” Rosenberg, manager for Eminem, said in a statement. “The previous pop-ups were really a test for us to determine whether there was enthusiasm for a regularly-occurring Mom’s Spaghetti spot that would be open all year long. We are really pleased to announce the arrival of the walk-up restaurant and adjacent upstairs store, called The Trailer, where fans can experience a uniquely-curated environment and obtain merch and other items from Eminem and his new pasta operation.”

Union Joints co-owner Curt Catallo added, “When we were first tapped to create the pop-ups it was an honor for all of us involved. The opportunity to build a permanent location based on an incredibly meta reference was one that everyone at Union Joints, as a Metro Detroit restaurant group, took very seriously. We’re proud of the fact that we created a scratch sauce that tastes like it’s straight from the jar, and wok-firing the noodles gives it that leftover pasta snap. The walk-up window and small diner-like spot for people to eat add to the feeling that this is a homegrown, DIY experience. And The Trailer retail space that Ann (Stevenson) designed is a nod to Eminem’s character in 8 Mile…it’s something that belongs in Detroit, and it feels right at home in this space.”
