Dior's CD Link Sunglasses Make a Case for Over-Branding

Kim Jones shows once again that overt branding is the way forward for Dior, releasing an eight-piece CD Link sunglasses range under the Beachwear 2021 capsule collection.

Each pair of sunglasses features an intricate "CD" link design that becomes part of the arms, appearing in various forms. For example, the Pilot sunglasses style prominently shows the CD logo on the arms as the latter piece is much thinner in contrast to the branding, whereas styles like the crystal-tone S1U features the metal arms and branding inside a transparent crystal acetate structure that makes up the shape of the frames.

Elsewhere, we find other acetate-constructed frames paired with sporty straps that wrap around the back of the head for support, and most of the sunglasses are finished with silver-tinted lenses that are graced with Dior's repeated Oblique motif that's tinted in blue to create a chromatic effect.

All of the new Dior CD Link sunglasses can be seen above and purchased on Dior's website or at its boutiques worldwide now.

In other news, eyewear brand CHIMI has produced its own snorkel.
