NOAH and Pop Art legend Tom Wesselmann have teamed up to deliver a collaborative collection.
The capsule offers Wesselmann's work like Face #5, one from Bedroom Paintings, Mouth #7, Monica Sitting with Mondrian #4 and Seascape #4 on both bold and monochromatic T-shirts, short-sleeved shirts, pocket T-shirts, white towels and a simple transparent tumbler. Each piece in the collection features minimal branding from both the artist and the brand, with insignias found on either the sleeve, back or front of the apparel.
"The color scheme and scale is a wonderful approach that beautifully captures the simplicity of the subject and makes it look rich in smallness," NOAH said in a translated statement. "He was a big fan of Willem de Kooning and action painting...This Wesselmann choice serves as our inspiration at NOAH."
The Tom Wesselmann x NOAH collection is priced between ¥4,950 JPY (approximately $45 USD) to ¥19,800 JPY (approximately $180 USD), and drops May 22 at the NOAH Clubhouse in Harajuku, Tokyo, the NOAH Noodle Shop and Dover Street Market Ginza in Osaka and the NOAH webstore.
