Lil Wayne Charts on Billboard Hot 100 for 17th Straight Year

Lil Wayne continues to attest to his career's longevity as he enters this week's Billboard Hot 100 — marking the 17th consecutive year that he's made an appearance on the chart.

According to Hip-Hop All Day, the track that opened at No. 100 this week is "THANKFUL," Weezy's collaboration with DJ Khaled and Jeremih from the producer's latest record, KHALED KHALED. The cut is his first chart entry of 2021, meaning that the artist has appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 at least once since 2004.

In addition, the entry gives Lil Wayne his 21st charting year overall since 1999; the only year he didn't enter the chart was in 2003. That year marked the gap between 500 Degreez and Tha Carter, and only saw him release mixtapes Da Drought and SQ5, SQ6, SQ6: Tha Remix and SQ7 with Sqad Up.

Lil Wayne is set to release a new Young Money compilation for the first time since 2014's Rise of an Empire. “We about to put the compilation together with all the artists together on one album,” Tunechi said in a previous interview. “That sets up everything for everybody so they could start coming out with their solo projects as well.”

Elsewhere in music, JAY-Z will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.
