TAG Heuer has found its stride in tapping into its portfolio for modern takes on its historic watches. One of those models was privy to the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300 reboot, and even went a step further in paying homage to the watch Timothy Dalton wore -- the TAG Heuer Professional Night-Dive 980.031 -- as Bond in The Living Daylights.
Releasing just last month, TAG Heuer surprised fans by updating that Night Diver for a blacked-out DLC version of the Aquaracer 300. While the 43mm case and stop sign-esque markers may be a bit too much for some, the watch's complete package of novelties and function make for a great tool watch -- it's fun, rugged, and you may actually take it diving.
This stealthy watch packs a robust crown, lumed dodecagonal dive bezel, an internal cyclops for the 6 o'clock date, 300 meters of water resistance, different colored Super-LumiNova on the minute hand, and a signature "Night Diver" full Super-LumiNova-painted dial. The rubber bracelet also features a ratcheting diver’s expansion clasp.
Powered by TAG Heuer's reliable Cal. 5 - a no-frills movement with only a 38-hour power reserve -- this watch would make for a great everyday watch, especially when you factor in its $3,350 USD price tag.
