Revisiting one of its heritage models, American watchmaker Hamilton has now turned its second World War U.S. Air Force-issued Model 23 pocket watch into a vintage-inspired timepiece.
Dubbed the Khaki Pilot Pioneer Automatic, the new edition comes in a conservative 38mm stainless steel case as a nod to the more humble design sensibilities of the past. A black 60-minute bezel surrounds a matte dial of the same tone paired with patinated numeral indices for better legibility, while classic cathedral hands add to the timepiece's vintage flair. Powering the watch itself is the H-10 automatic movement, a modified version of the ETA 2801-2 with a Nivachron antimagnetic balance spring that offers a trusty 80 hours of power reserve. A deep brown leather strap then completes the look.
For those interested, the new Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer Automatic 38mm is now available exclusively on HODINKEE for $995 USD.
Elsewhere in watches, Zavvi has released a trio of Batman Begins limited-edition utility watches.
