Acclaimed French artist, Jean Jullien, will unveil a solo exhibition at Tokyo's Parco Museum on Friday, September 17. "PAPER PEOPLE" is curated by NANZUKA and features the artist's love for manga culture through various scenes that depict the beauty and ridiculousness of daily life.
All of the art has been made during the pandemic, and if any of his past work is any clue, we can look forward to a whimsical display that can let us laugh (at least a little) through this nightmare. The exhibition will feature 50 paintings of varying sizes, capturing the charm and humor that has become a trademark of Jullien's oeuvre.
To accompany the exhibition, there will be an edition of 25 "PAPER PEOPLE" screen prints which will be on sale via lottery at the event and online. Additionally, Jullien has been tasked with creating visuals that will be present at Parco Art Week 2021. "PAPER PEOPLE" will go on view from September 17 to October 3.
