NYC-based contemporary Chinese design and art boutique Chop Suey Club has released a Rubik's Cube based on the classic Mahjong tiles.
Mahjong is a popular tile-based game developed in China in the 19th century with several variations in rules found in parts of China, Japan, South Korea, and throughout Asia. The game is typically played with 144 tiles bearing Chinese characters and symbols, and similar to Poker, it's a matching game of skill, strategy, and luck. The Mahjong Rubiks cube is standard-sized and replaces the classic colored blocks with slightly raised imprints of Mahjong tiles for a texturized feel.
The specialty Rubiks Cube is now available for $12 USD on the Chop Suey Club website.
Elsewhere in design, Nintendo and LEGO Release Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block.
