Robin Revealed as Bisexual in 'Batman: Urban Legends' Anthology Series

In the latest August issue of DC Comic's Batman: Urban Legends, Tim Drake's version of Batman's sidekick has come out as bisexual.

Earlier this week, the latest installment of the monthly comic anthology series kept readers on their toes as Robin is seen accepting an invitation on a date from another guy. The moment is to be celebrated and was all thanks to writer Meghan Fitzmartin, colorist Alejandro Sánchez, artist Belén Ortega and letterer Pat Brosseau.

The mega-milestone moment comes at the end of the third part of Sum of Our Parts. The current storyline sees Tim reconnect with his old friend, Bernard Dowd, who last appeared in the 2005 No 140 issue of Robin. When Bernard is kidnapped by new villain named Chaos Monster, Bernard hints at knowing that Tim is Robin and saying he wished "we could have finished our date." When they later make it to safety Bernard asks Tim on a legitimate date, in which Tim accepts.

Tim Drake's Robin has now joined an established list of LGBTQ superheroes including Kate Kane (Batwoman), Bobby Drake (Iceman), Bill Kaplan (Wiccan) and Loki Jean-Paul Beuabier (Northstar).

Fans will have to hold out until the next installment of the anthology series, set to come out in December, for the latest story on their budding relationship.

In other entertainment news, Idris Elba was recently announced to be voicing Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
