Netflix Drops "Trailer" for 'Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed' Documentary

Netflix has shared the official "trailer" of its upcoming documentary film, Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed.

Directed by Joshua Rofé, the documentary will supposedly tell audiences "the shockingly untold story" of prolific landscape artist and The Joy of Painting host, touching on the legal battles and the betrayal of the late icon by the people he trusted. Netflix's take on the docu's trailer is a little different — instead of showing actual footage of the film, the streaming service shares that it's unable to do so and audiences can only find out why when they watch the documentary.

"With a keen appreciation for nature, and a kind and gentle demeanor, Bob Ross encouraged everyone he met to embrace their creativity and believe in themselves, becoming a cultural phenomenon along the way," the official synopsis reads. "The man who famously said that there were no mistakes - just happy accidents - has brought sheer delight to the world for decades. Beyond the iconic hair, soothing voice and nostalgic paintings lies a mystery that many have yet to discover."

Watch the "trailer" above. Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed premieres August 25 on Netflix.

Elsewhere in entertainment, watch the trailer for Spike Lee and HBO's forthcoming documentary series, NYC EPICENTERS 9/11➔2021½.
