Zack Snyder and Netflix have premiered the official teaser trailer for the Army of the Dead prequel, Army of Thieves.
Directed by and starring Matthias Schweighöfer, the prequel follows small-town bank teller Dieter as he "gets drawn into the adventure of a lifetime when a mysterious woman recruits him to join a crew of Interpol’s most wanted criminals, attempting to heist a sequence of legendary, impossible-to-crack safes across Europe."
Joining Schweighöfer in the cast are Game of Thrones alum Nathalie Emmanuel, Ruby O. Fee, Stuart Martin, Guz Khan and Jonathan Cohen. Shay Hatten serves as the screenplay writer while Snyder co-produced the film alongside Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller, Dan Maag and Schweighöfer.
Army of Thieves is just one of two Army of the Dead prequels, the other being an anime-inspired TV series titled Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas. Info on the series is yet to be revealed.
