Tissot Charts New Depths with 2000ft Seastar Professional

Tissot has added a new range-topping diver that doubles the existing maximum depth rating of its Seastar collection.

The sturdy new 46mm stainless steel Seastar 2000 Professional is water resistant to 600m or 2000ft and also includes a helium release valve and a unidirectional steel bezel with black ceramic insert ring.

The natural habitat of the Seastar is illustrated on its gradient dial with an imprinted wave pattern and the watch conforms to all of the criteria laid down in the ISO 6425 dive watch standard.

At the heart of the Seastar is Swatch Group’s 3Hz automatic Powermatic 80 workhorse movement with its anti-magnetic Nivachron balance spring and 80-hour power reserve.

While the Seastar 2000 has been specced out to suit professional divers, it is intended as an everyday watch for civilians and as such features a date window at the six o’clock position, a sapphire crystal caseback.

The Seastar 2000 Professional is available now in a choice of three dial colors; in black and two shades of blue via Tissot, priced $1,200 USD (£895 GBP).

In other watch news, G-SHOCK drops Marino Marwood collaboration in August.
