Always celebrating its New York roots, Supreme recently delivered a celebration of the iconic Chopped Cheese sandwich.
The Chopped Cheese, also known as "a chop cheese," is undeniably a staple of New York City. Often erroneously compared to a cheesesteak and cheese sloppy joe, the sandwich is commonly found in bodegas throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. Finding worldwide acclaim in recent years, the sandwich is prepared on a plancha grill and mainly features ground beef, onions, melted cheese and served with lettuce, tomatoes and choice condiments on a toasted hero roll.
Posted on Instagram, the video chronicles the usual ordering and preparation of the staple of New York. The clip also highlights the slight ways that New Yorkers like their sandwich, "Put a little fried egg on there, too. Fried hard on the bottom. Leave the yolk runny so when I apply pressure, it spread like love."
