After Stone Island and New Balance unveiled plans to begin a collaborative partnership earlier this year, Stone Island now announces its new project in conjunction with Tokyo Design Studio, New Balance’s product innovation hub.
Based in the sneaker brand’s Boston HQ -- as well as in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi Hamacho district -- Tokyo Design Studio is responsible for researching and developing innovative designs and techniques to help accelerate New Balance into the future.
With an aim of exalting the know-how of both brands, the project is set to create products that feature the essence of both, offering performance and comfort, as well as a new aesthetic vision.
While the specifics of the project are yet to be shared, drop dates and product information will likely be released in the coming months.
In other news, New Balance's 2002R has surfaced in a duo of summer-friendly colorways.
