Khalid released a music video to accompany his new single "New Normal," giving viewers a glimpse into a not-so-distant future filled with impressive technology.
In the video, Khalid shows off a thriving metropolis filled with technological advancements, like self-driving cars and drone delivery systems. Inside his home, a Sony PlayStation 5 waters his plants while a swarm of delivery robots huddle on the sidewalk.
The end of the video sees Khalid opening up his blinds to see a billboard advertising a flight to space in 90 minutes alongside a phone number and an accompanying text that says "Volunteers wanted." Calling the real-life number plays a recording of what appears to be a fake space company called "K Corp," which is advertising a volunteer program for space exploration.
The 23-year-old singer first premiered the song for the Virgin Galactic space crew earlier this month as part of the company's inaugural space launch, which CEO Richard Branson referred to as a "the vanguard of a new space age.”
