For World Emoji Day, Adobe announced its 2021 Global Emoji Trend Report, which surveyed 7,000 individuals in the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Australia, and South Korea to see the impact of emojis on digital communication and forming connections.
According to the report, the top five emotions that users expressed through emojis are love, sadness, anger, and surprise. Other interesting finds are 88 percent of global users are more likely to feel empathetic toward someone who uses an emoji, 89 percent of users agree that emojis make it easier to communicate across language barriers, and 60 percent of users say they're more likely to open an email or push notification that contains an emoji.
