Razer, the Singaporean-American tech company known for its gaming hardware, unveiled an all-new and ultra-thin gaming laptop at its E3 2021 showcase on Monday.
Known as the Razer Blade 14, the powerful 14-inch computer is being hailed as "the ultimate AMD gaming laptop," and features the impressive 8-core, 16-thread AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor that offers a max boost clock of up to 4.6GHz. The sleek laptop also features up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU and up to a Quad HD 165Hz display. Signature finishings on the Blade 14 include per-key Razer Chroma RGB backlighting, immersive THX Spatial Audio and an array of connectivity ports.
Made of CNC aluminum with an anodized finish, Razer claims that its latest gaming laptop is over 30 percent smaller in volume than 15-inch offerings from competitors and provides up to 12 hours of battery life. A sharp 720p webcam is also built-in and features an IR sensor for seamless login via Windows Hello.
In addition, the laptop embraces vapor chamber cooling and cutting-edge thermal materials to help quietly reduce overheating while employing 88 fan blades that measure a mere 0.1 mm thin -- equivalent to the thinness of a human hair.
"When we introduced the Blade 14 in 2013, Razer challenged the industry to think bigger, yet smaller," said Brad Wildes, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Razer’s Systems Business Unit, in a statement. "The new Blade 14 aims to shake up the industry once again by combining Razer’s decade worth of experience in crafting ultra-compact and high-end gaming machines with the power and efficiency of AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors."
"As gamers demand lighter and more powerful form factors in gaming laptops, we have remained committed to our goal of delivering best-in-class mobile processors for premium OEM designs," added Saeid Moshkelani, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Client Business Unit at AMD.
The Razer Blade 14 is available for purchase on the Razer website and starts at $1,799.99 USD.
Also on Monday's E3 showcase, Capcom announced that Resident Evil Village's survival horror saga will continue in a new expansion.
