Marvel Taps 'Ultraman' Artists for New Tech Suits for Iron Man and the Avengers

For its latest Avengers comic, Marvel has tapped into the Ultraman manga designers Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi for a set of high-tech power suits created for all of Earth's mightiest heroes. Joining the artistic pair is writer Uncanny Avengers writer Jim Zub and Venom: The End illustrator Jeff "Chamba" Cruz.

Set one year after the destruction of Thanos' Infinity Stones, the six-issue Tech-On Avengers follows the Avengers as they are all stripped of their super abilities by a "strange new power" wielded by Red Skull. In order to continue fighting and defending the Earth against him and other supervillains, the team turns to Tony Stark for help, donning his newly-developed power suits as the Iron Avengers.

As a celebration of Shimizu and Shimoguchi's designs, Bandai Spirits will also be releasing a range of S.H. Figuarts figures of the various Avengers in their power suits, tapping into its premium Metal Builds lineup. Iron Man will be arriving first, followed by Captain America and a third mystery figure which appears to be the clawed Wolverine suit.

For fans of Marvel and the Avengers, the first issue of Tech-On Avengers will launch on August 11, with the figures coming shortly after.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Kevin Feige has revealed that the WandaVision title drew inspiration from Spike Lee's BlackkKlansman.
