It has been less than a week since the boxing match between former UFC Welterweight champ Tyron Woodley and Jake Paul was announced. While Woodley's first sentiments were to meet in an MMA cage, he eventually agreed to fight Paul in the boxing ring. Attention and early talks for this match appeared as early as late April after Ben Askren's fight when trash talk was direct at Woodley by Paul's camp member J'Leon Love.
Now that the date is set for August 28, the first rounds of promotions have been taking place. Appearing at 5th Street Gym in Miami, Florida both fighters showed up for their very first faceoff. During the faceoff, harsh words were exchanged with Paul even proposing that if Woodley beat him, he would double his purse and that if he won Woodley would have to give his purse to charity. Woodley, who declined the offer, is currently on a four-fight losing streak but is in full confidence for this match, even chanting his "I’ll beat yo ass" track to the face of Paul.
On top of the faceoff, Floyd Mayweather, who's set to fight Logan Paul this weekend, commented that he would be down to train Tyron Woodley for the fight. Watch the two fighters get squared off by Barstool Sports President Dave Portnoy below.
