Balenciaga's jewelry is usually a form of playful self-expression -- check out the toy bracelet if you need any convincing -- but now the Demna Gvasalia-helmed imprint has taken a grungey turn with its new zip necklace.
Served up in "Aged Silver Zamak" (that's the German acronym for zink, magnesium, aluminum, and kupfer -- the latter is also known as copper), the zip necklace is designed a bit like a choker-style link chain in that all of the links are connected. However, instead of chunky locks, Balenciaga adds "BB" engraved zippers in a nod to the hardware found on its accessories and outerwear.
Each pull is intersected by a slider (or car), as you'd find on a jacket, and these appear slightly shinier than the zips themselves as they're not engraved.
Rounding out the necklace is the Balenciaga-branded clasp that brings the 18.9L x 0.5H x 0.3W-inch piece together. Take a look at Balenciaga's zip necklace above, and pick it up from Balenciaga's website now for $795 USD.
