Swizz Beatz Speaks on Possibility of Second Posthumous DMX Album

EXODUS executive producer Swizz Beatz revealed in a new interview that the late DMX has quite a catalog of unreleased songs, although they are in no rush to release anything new.

Sitting down with The Breakfast Club, the artist explained that they want to release things that adds to the legacy of X. “He got a lot of music...For me it’s like, he just worked so hard on this record that I don’t really want to tamper with things unless it can be better than this record," Swizz Beatz explained. "I don’t want to just put things out, and even with the footage, we recorded the whole process of the album, and it's like, we could’ve been putting that footage out right now leading up to the album. But I’m like, ‘Let's do something masterful with it. Let's treat it as art and curate it to where it adds to his legacy and is not just a blip of a moment that seems like it works, but you still don’t really understand the whole story.’”

The producer also clarified that the only change made on the album after DMX's death was the supposed feature of the late Pop Smoke. Swizz Beatz explained that the two Pop Smoke verses they tried to get for "Money Money Money" were already used, so he reached out to Moneybagg Yo instead.
