Rockstar Games has announced it will be launching its very own record label. Music has always been a big element of the game developer's hallmark franchise Grand Theft Auto, so it isn't a big surprise Rockstar wants to explore this new endeavor.
Rockstar teamed up with dance party organizer CircoLoco to build the label. The name of the label will be CircoLoco Records, and it will focus on meshing the worlds of video game music and dance music. GTA V's resident DJs, like Moodymann and Dixon, will be brought on to the label, alongside other notable artists like Carl Craig, Luciano and Seth Troxler.
CircoLoco Records' first EP will be called Monday Dreamin'. It will be a compilation album offering "contributions from some of the visionaries and icons from every era of CircoLoco's greatest parties," notes Rockstar. "Lumartes" by Seth Troxler has already been released as the EP's lead single. More tracks are expected to drop until the records' official launch on July 9.
In case you missed it, GTA V has been given a release date for Microsoft Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5.
