Amid Pokémon TCG shortages due to increased popularity and demand, some of those looking to get hold of them have become more aggressive. Target has already stopped selling trading cards due to an influx of violence over them, but now similar scenes can be found at Walmart too.
In a video captured by Instagram user @tcg_grassi (which you can view below thanks to Twitter user Big B Cards), a group of customers at Walmart can be seen queuing outside the store before its opening time. As the store opens its doors, the crowd begins to charge in, running chaotically at the trading card section, shoving and pushing one another in order to grab hold of more of the newly-restocked Pokémon cards.
When reached out to by Kotaku, @tcg_grassi said: “I’ve been in lines at other stores with them and they’ve all been respectful in the past. Kinda crazy." According to him, the manager at Walmart was not amused while the rest of his employees looked on in shock.
Got this video from Instagram from @tcg_grassi and wanted to bring it to Twitter. This shit is unbelievable. pic.twitter.com/ELYSDR2Cc5
