New Balance has designed another rendition of its 57/40, one of the more expressive and modern adapatations of the 574 silhouette — a bold gray and red colorway. The shoe, however, still faithfully retains some of the classic details of the 574 as a nod to its heritage.
The 57/40's uppers are reinterpreted with '80s and '90s influences. At the top of the shoe is a "NB" tongue tag, complemented by premium suede panels that start at the quarters and cover most of the shoe's lower body. Popping out in a bright red color is a double-stacked "N" logo at the sidewalls to match the heel tab at the back. Furthermore, an understated cream palette is seen on the laces and toebox, while a vintage white midsole rounds off the shoe's designs.
This iteration of New Balance's 57/40 will be available on April 30, 6 p.m. EST on 43einhalb's website for €100 EUR (approximately $120 USD).
In case you missed it, New Balance 237's has been given a playful "Cobalt Blue/Aspen" makeover.
