Grimes took to TikTok to defend Elon Musk, her boyfriend and father of her child, after fans questioned their relationship.
People reached out to Grimes in the comment section, seemingly concerned why the artist is with a "MAN WHO [IS LITERALLY DESTROYING] THE PLANET AND HUMANITY," to which Grimes responded, "How is he doing these things? His whole career is about making travel/house power etc. sustainable and green. It’s worth a deep dive."
Others have asked Grimes to confirm whether or not the Tesla CEO is a "men's rights activist" specifically writing, "Bestie can you confirm he’s not a men’s rights activist? Some people online have been saying that & I’m concerned." Grimes acknowledges that Musk can be controversial, but that he supports women, "He’s not [a men’s rights activist]. Def he’s been very immature at points on Twitter but for [example] the president of SpaceX is a woman, as is his right hand [person] at Neuralink, etc."
Grimes wraps up her defense as a commenter asks who she is trying to convince, which she responds, "I don’t need to convince anyone haha. I accept this discourse. I’m just rly close to it so sum times [sic] I try to correct the misconceptions haha."
Elon Musk and Grimes had their first child together in May 2020, making headlines as they named him X Æ A-Xii.
