LaMelo Ball To Miss Rest of NBA Season Due To Fractured Right Wrist

Charlotte Hornets' point guard and arguably NBA's most promising rookie has suffered a fracture on his right wrist due to an unexpected fall during this weekend's game.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN, Ball is expected to miss the rest of the season. His fall occurred in the first half of the Hornets' 125-98 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers on the March 20 game. The Hornets' organization announced on Sunday evening that Ball has already undergone an MRI, which led to his initial diagnosis reveal of a fractured bone in the right wrist. Additional updates have yet to be provided.

Ball is set to meet with Dr. Michelle Carlson of Hospital for Special Surgery in New York for a second opinion this coming week. However, it is expected that after a showstopping 41 game debut to bring the Hornets to the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 20-21 record, Ball will not return to the rest of the 2020-2021 NBA season.

LaMelo Ball was the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, currently averaging 15.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and shooting 45.1% from the field.

In other NBA injuries, LeBron James is also out indefinitely due to a high ankle sprain injury.
